Clouds…

…are a symbol for thoughts and feelings. They are not tangible; they form and change incessantly. Depending on the conditions, they transform into dark or light shapes. Unceasingly they come into being and vanish again.

As with the weather, the clouds of the mind – thoughts and feelings – can make us feel gloomy, bring us a difficult, dark time, or they can give us cheerful or peaceful hours. Thoughts and feelings colour our experience, they seduce us to believe they are real.

But unlike the weather, we have a say regarding our thoughts and feelings. By observing the
constantly changing states of mind and their intrinsic insubstantiality, we free ourselves from
the heavy burden of destructive thoughts. We can recognize the limitless space that opens
beyond the states of mind that visit us.
