Eva

I was born in 1952 in Thal, St.Gallen, Switzerland. After my training, I worked for a good ten years as a social and community worker in Berne. From 1986 to 1990, I worked intensively and devotedly with the voice as a path to a healthy sense of self. A wonderful practice, which I include in some courses and retreats.

From 1990 I have been meditating in Asia, Europe, and America with renowned teachers, including Sayadaw U Janaka, Christopher Titmuss, Joseph Goldstein, Carol Wilson and Tsoknyi Rinpoche. In total I spent more than three years in silent retreats.

I lived and worked for one and a half years at IMS (Insight Meditation Society) dharma.org in Massachusetts and three years at the Meditation Centre Beatenberg karuna.ch in Switzerland.

At the end of 2003 I emigrated to Ireland and taught meditation and MBSR for fourteen years on the Dingle Peninsula. I qualified as an MBSR teacher (Bangor University, UK, and IMA, institute-for-mindfulness.org, Germany), founded a meditation center in Dingle (Kalyana Centre for Mindfulness) and taught many courses.

From 2016 I also worked as a lecturer at the IMA, training future MBSR teachers, and since that time I work as a supervisor.

In spring 2019 I left the Emerald Isle and returned to my Swiss home country. I have settled near Berne and continue to teach MBSR and mindfulness courses, give supervisions and occasionally lead retreats.

During the 15 years living in Ireland I have organised and taught many Meditation courses. These I offered in different Towns and Cities, in my own Meditation Centre in Dingle, as well as in other Centres like Sunyata Centre in Co. Clare and Passaddhi Centre on the Beara Peninsula. I am an authorised meditation teacher and member of the professional association of MBSR teachers mindfulness.swiss.

Here is a list of my work in Ireland:
– 42 Mindfulness und Metta courses (5–6 weeks long)
– 59 MBSR courses (8-week courses)
– 51 Weekends (2–3 days)
– 107 Day-retreats
– 22 Silent retreats (5 to 7 days)
– 8 Voice Awareness courses
– 8 Weeklong hiking retreats
– 11 New Year retreats (4 days)
– 11 Awakening Joy courses (based on the book of James Baraz)
– 5 week-long island retreats on Illauntanig Island
– 2 MBCA courses (Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Ageing).

I also offered weekly drop-in classes, an open space for anyone to meditate.
