The eight-week course “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” (MBSR) was designed by molecular biologist and professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, a good forty years ago.
It is specially designed for people who suffer from a wide range of symptoms. Anxiety, chronic pain, depression, digestive problems, chronic fatigue, burn-out, excessive worrying, financial pressure, relationship stress, stress at work, and all kinds of stress symptoms. It is for people who generally feel overwhelmed by life as well as for those who want to find supportive meaning in their life.
In this course you gain a deeper understanding of this body-mind process through the practice of body scan, mindful movement, and meditation. You find a new attitude towards life, by cultivating a different understanding of thoughts and feelings.
An integral and important part of the course is to practice at home. You should therefore have about 40 minutes a day for the guided exercises.
