In some of my courses and retreats we use the voice to focus the mind. Well-grounded in the body we use humming or the sound of vowels or short syllables. With the vibrations generated we connect with the subtle energies of the body. With focused attention we gently approach the feelings and sensations that become accessible in this way. We then sit in silent meditation to integrate whatever appeared.
